Raw mango- summer special!

Summer has started and mango season too. 'Summer and mangoes' is a perfect equation and many people love this season because of mangoes!!!!!

Raw mango or kacchi Kairi, the name is sufficient to stimulate our taste buds. The tangy-sweet raw mango is everyone’s favourite and it is one of the most cherished fruit during summer. It has nostalgic childhood memories as all of us must have had eaten this crunchy and tangy fruit drizzled with chilli powder and salt.

Mango is a “king of fruits”. Its taste and health benefits can signify the reason why it is the king of fruits. Scientifically it is known as Mangifera indica. It is a single, large seed fruit native to India and Southeast Asia and has been cultivating for over 4,000 years. There are various types of mango, each with a unique taste, shape, size and colour.

Raw mango can eat when they are green and crunchy or, you can also make raw-mango juice (Kairi Panna).

Mangoes can act as an excellent scrubs for your skin. Take a teaspoon of mango pulp, add half a teaspoon of milk with honey and then, rub it over your face in circular motion. This helps remove blackheads and dead skin cells to rejuvenate your skin.


Mango has a high glycemic index, which increases insulin in the body and can result in an increase in acne. Dr Jaishree says, 'People who are prone to acne should avoid dairy and sugar. ' She further added, 'Fruits that are sugary - mangoes, watermelon, green grapes can increase acne.
